1992 7.3 hard to start

1992 f250 7.3,new glow plugs,oil/filter,air filter, fuel filter.when the tank is full the truck starts/runs great.when i get below half in the fuel the truck will start but will rev up /down and sometimes stall.cant find no fuel leaks but i put a clear fuel line on the return line to check for bubbles.bought the truck 1 month ago,1 diesel like the truck if it would run better

the surging up and own def sounds like a fuel pressure issue , if it only does afte a half a tank its possible to be sucking air from the sending unti inside the tank are you sure the gauge is reading correctly, the sending units are bad to read wrong in that model

in your original complaint it says it runs fine when full of fuel and only acts up once its below half a tank of fuel, theres nothing in there about it running fine after you get it started , goin with the info stated in the first post

While it's running and the idle is surging, try to push in the air relief valve on top of the fuel filter housing and see if air comes out. Also before trying to start it, take off the fuel filter and fill it with diesel, then put it back and try to start it. It sounds like air in the system, maybe you have a hole in the fuel line going into the tank. Once the fuel falls below halfway, the hole is open and it sucks up air.
Just an idea...
