1988 7.3 idi starter help

I have a 88 7.3 idi i need to replace my starter mounted soilnoid but all the parts store i go to have a different listing for my truck then looked up starters and differnt there to for some reason my starter is almost i dentical to a 88 chevy with a 454 and solinoid looks the same but i am afraid that the difference in amps will fry my starter to bits please help
