performance options???
I have a 94 f250, 7.3 i.d.i., 4x4, auto. 52,000 mi. What are my options for more power, performance & fuel economy? I'm sure there's got to be someone out there with similar issues. Who's done it? What's the best source for parts? Thanks.

I'm not the best source, as I am sort of new to diesel (but not auto mechanics), but I have heard about the usual better air filter and exhaust, but for the most part I think you can turn up the injector pressure but that's about it. I may be wrong and I am sure someone that knows a bit more will chime in shortly, but that is all I have heard of.

ok for my truck (94 turbo idi) we installed a kit that I believe ATS makes which is a new turbo housing and eliminated the pancaked down pipe( for turboed models). That combined with turning up the pump, homemade intake and straight piped exhaust( little side note, I originally went with 3'' all the way through but I changed my mind and right after the down pipe I flanged it to 4''- it sounded way better and gave me more millage), i mean enormous difference with my truck.
sumary of mods for 94 Tidi- Ats turbo upgrade kit(turbo housing, new down pipe) Turned up pump( running around 13psi) Straight piped 4" Home made intake Converter Lock up switch. Three gauge pillar with Isspro gauges(pryo, boost, trans temp) Re-built E40d with shift kit. |
