IDI to Powerstroke Swap
Hey everyone, this is my thread on this forum. I have a 92 idi non-turbo f250 with an auto tranny. I came across a deal that i could not pass up which is a 95 Powerstroke engine. I have herd too many stories about how difficult this swap is and I just want to know if anyone has done it or has any information about it. I know that it is a direct bolt in. The engine came with the whole wiring harness and the ECM. My buddy is good at wiring so he will be helping me with this. Lets hear some responses about the swap! Thanks

I picked it up today and it also came with torque converter.

I have all of the wiring ready to go and I am going to pull the idi motor out tomorrow. I will post up pictures as soon as I get the 95 Powerstroke engine in.

The swap is going really good. This is my first engine swap and it is just more time consuming then hard, I just put the new body harness on and got the dash put all back together. I cant wait to start it up! Ive been taking pictures of the whole project so I will post them up soon.

tthere is going to be A LOT of wiring involved...IDIs are very simple and PS are comparatively technical.
How goes the swap?!!?! Any pics?

The swap is going good, the wiring has been simple. The only think i have had to connect is my fuel tank selector and my headlight switch, only because someone found the truck before me at the junkyard and cut them out. All of the wires matched up so it was obvious where the wires went. I took the whole truck harness, from the engine harness, the body harness and the dash harness so everything matched up which is nice. I couldn't imagine having to match up all all of those wires to connect to the harnesses if I didnt get everything. I have a TON of pics on my iPhone so I will upload them tomorrow.
