Hey powerstrokers!

How are you guys? Gotta question for you all. My buddy has a 92 F250 non turbo truck. I was wondering if there was anything we could do to get a turbo on this puppy??? I own a duramax and a cummins so i am really of no help to him so i figured i would jump on here and ask. Is there another year model we could rip the turbo off of or is thee a kit somewhere or do we have to just retro fit some stuff? Thanks all!

If you want to buy new, check out Hypermax. New turbo kit around $1800. I bought mine used, just start looking on craigslist, ebay, junkyards, etc.

Yeah hypermax is a good setup. Just look for the kit that will fit his truck. They vary depending on if it's auto trans or manual.

Hypermax makes a kit for them, so does Banks but the banks kit is about 1000 bucks more expensive. You could also look for a used turbo setup from a factory turbo IDI but he would probably be happier with the Hypermax or Banks setup.

As far as anything else needing done to the truck after you get the kit installed, it depends. If his injector pump and injectors are in good shape then I'd probably just turn the pump up a couple flats. He'll need a pyrometer and will probably want a boost gauge though. If his IP and injectors are old and tired he'll need to replace those to get the most out of his new turbo setup.
