new tow rig..
so im picking up a 88-89 f350 4x4 use to be a wrecker auto 7.3 idi
floors are junk along with the whole cab i got a clean cab off a 90 ford f250 gas truck im goin to swap over and i need to get the trans rebuilt only has reverse no foward gears now some questions for you guys how hard of a swap is it goin to be t swap over my gas cab for the diesel cab same generation truck except one is auto and one is a 5speed and as far as wiring the idi is it simple wiring for motor or goin to be a pain? i would like to keep my dash thats in my donor truck bc its a xlt lariat thats spotless and just change the colms over thanks in advance |

so what i have been reading on the cab swap says i cant use my factory dash in my donor truck thats gas is this true or not bc my dash is perfect along with my donor truck minus a title problem
![]() my diesel is either a 88-89 my donor truck is a 90 gas truck and possibility?? and im just doin a cab swap so all i need to do is pull the four body mount bolts on the cab and swap them correct? secound how much of a harness is there on 7.3 idi motor my body harness is the same i belive any way to rewire the diesel harness to work with my dash ? |

Your going to run into a vin problem when swapping cabs. The correct (legal) way would be to title your truck with the cab that you would swap on. Therefore your 1 ton truck would then become a 3/4 ton truck, and you can run into problems when towing things (as you would appear over the limit).
I would use the diesel cluster just for the ease of that. Other than that, i'm not a wiring guy sorry man. |

the reason this is all happening in the first place is bc i cant get a title to my 90 f250 so im getting the diesel and swaping everything over so i have a mint truck with a better motor and it will be auto
