Considering a project

My father in law has a 91 4 door 7.3 IDI dually with with what I have been told is a banks turbo kit (it has a turbo, not sure what). the body on this truck is not in bad shape but the interior is..... well.... filthy. Im thinking lowered on 22.5s. My big concern is what to do with the engine. my understanding is that these are mechanical and you can tweak the pump on them, but what else are guys doing to the IDIs? I havnt decided if this truck is worth messing with or not yet. It hasnt ran in about 2yrs but im thinking it is a solenoid or somthing simple. I'm still not sold on a 2wd OBS dually

I would get it running, and do all of your other mods to it. Then when the truck is near its perfection, if you want do a repower with a powerstroke, cummins, or DT series engine.

A good running IDI will put out 200hp and 450ft lbs to the wheels. Thats with a different IP and turbo with good running motor.
