NEED HELP with VACUUM DIAGRAM on IDI with C6 tranny
My 88 Truck is running great but the tranny is shifting funny, mainly between 1/2. I noticed there is 2 vacuum ports on the IP with nothing going to them and also noticed there is 1 vacuum line from the firewall toward the IP that has been spliced to another vacuum line that goes to the tranny. Does not look right to me.
Can someone tell me where I can find a diagram or how to a hook the vacuum hose back up right??? |

I FIXED IT!
Well after a little research I found what I was needing. Incase someone else has a funny shift problem with the C6 tranny you can check this out.
The vacuum ports on the side of the IP is call a vacuum regulator valve and can only be found at the dealer. List price is around $150. but my cost was $111.00. The main vacuum runs to the top port and the vacuum line going to the tranny is the lower port. It took me about 10 min. to change it out and after 15 mins of trying to adjust per the book, I found it much fast to drive it and make the adjustments without the book. 2 adjustments and this thing shifts like new. Neat thing about this little deal is you can make adjustments for alittle firmer shifts and also makes the tranny stay in the lower gear longer. (would be good for towing) |
