93 IDI Injectors
Okay so a guy brought up a 1993 IDI to the shop today and he thinks the injectors are bad along with the Orings. Well it has a really bad knock coming from it witch sound like its coming from the injector itself. It also pours alot of white smoke and has a really really rough idle to the point i dont think its going to stay running.
He said it doesnt go through alot of oil or coolant... What do you guys think before i start throwin parts at it? Injectors? Note...i dont work on the IDI much so im kinda about them. Thanks guys Steve |

With the knocking sound....dont figure it to be injectors...I could be wrong though. Worked on one a cple months ago... same symptoms, he lost 2 lifters.....

I would rule out injectors first. With truck idling loosen each injector line. If it idles worse, that injector is good. If you loosen a line and the idle doesn't change, there you go. A stuck open injector will cause his symptoms.
I would lean more towards injector over valvetrain. |
