IDI Glow Plug Relay

Seems our GPR went out again with the plugs.

So instead of buying a replacement , is there an updated or upgrade to the relay on these idi engines? We have the relay with the square box underneath it.

I heard the infamous black truck wont even turn over now?

As far as I know, stock relays are the only ones. We ought to wire it up so that the glow plugs wont kick off like normal, just change the post of the hot wire we ran to it.

I have a 93' IDI that is getting hard to start. One day I noticed that the wait to start light was not coming on but then it started working again later in the day, this has only happened one other time since but the truck is still hard to start. I say hard to start, it seems like it is not getting fuel fuel or something but everything I keep checking is showing me fuel getting everywhere it is supposed to. Could I be having the same problem? I had the head gaskets replaced not long ago and they replaced the wires and reconnected all of the glow plugs back up.

will the stancor relay that we use on powerstrokes work on the 7.3 idi? It looks like i can make it work on my 6.9 but i know the glow plug system is different on a 7.3 idi

I honestly dont know about the PSD controller.

Being the cheap bass turd that I am, I just wired my glow plugs to a manual switch. NAPA wanted like $150 for a controller. 10 bucks later I have a fail proof glow plug controller (my controller happens to be me counting, (1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8)
