rear tank problem

93' f250 non turbo ext cab xlt high km. Problem is that my rear tank is full and the gage says its empty.I ran the rear tank out of fuel, (I thought) so I went to fill it up after 60km and it took 6bucks to fill.So I asked the father in law and he said it could be the transfer switch from tank to tank.But I was thinking the sending unit was bad and the pick up line may have broken off cause I got 60kms out of the tank before it ran dry.I called around and a sending unit is $460 from Ford but before I start spending money on it I was hoping some one else might have had the same problem thanks

Have you verified that the other tank wasnt emptied?

I hate fuel issues. Dealt with them for too long on my 94.

yes I could see fuel in the neck of the down spout
