Transmission?'s

i have a 90 f350 2wd 4dlb with an automatic transmission, i was wondering if there are common problems with the transmission and if there is a way to find out what trans it is exactly. the problem i have is it will shift fine through all the gears but will not go into overdrive. any suggestions on where to start. i changed the fluid and filter already. thanks in advance

I am having a similar problem. Will your truck downshift or do you need to do it manually? I think it is an electrical problem. I had a problem like this with another truck and I had to change the electrical connection at the tranny. I plan on having me mechanic check and I will let you know.

Its an E4OD=Electronic, Four Speed with overdrive

You can check all the connections on the trans. I hate dealing with this trans but there are some guys on other sites that have them down to an art.....PM me if you would lke to know where to ask this and get answers!
