7.3 idi exhaust

I have a 90 f250 7.3 idi and was wondering wut i should do for exhaust? i wanna straight pipe it but how does it sound good or bad would it hurt the engine since its non turbo?

I believe you will have to have some type of restriction as far as mufflers go because as you know there is no turbo to create backpressure on the motor.

i got mine strait piped with 2 5in stacks sounds great and it runs the same when it had mufflers.

There is a guy on youtube that has 3" exhaust with glass packs on his idi 7.3 I love the way it sounds but some may not. The audio gets a little distorted when he revs it. The truck is gorgeous though

It will be way too loud without a turbo. Not bad for the engine but you will want to wear ear plugs.

Dont go over 3 or so inches or its just rediculous. Plus on those engines its not going to gain you any power.

i thought the same thing but mine is pretty quite for having 5in stacks. it was louder when it was 2.5 in strait piped.
