If its the two piece canister one, you just unscrew it like a oil filter... mine had a silicone make a gasket seal and took me two hours to get unscrewed the first time! :badidea: It'll spill the diesel inside of it but thats all.
Put a bunch of rags underneath it. If it has the water seperator thing on the bottom with the wire, take the wire off. Take off the fuel filter like an oil filter. If it has the bottom piece, put filter in a vise and take it off. Put it on the new filter, and fill with diesel, but DO NOT pour in the center. Then put it back on. Fire the truck up. Sometimes they idle a little rough, give it a little throttle to help of that is the case.
I try to change it twice a year.
