Put the turbo idi on a dyno today.
so today my buddy went to the dyno and i went to watch, after watching him i had to get mine done. his truck is a 95 powerstroke, with a chip, downpipe with 4 inch exhaust and a cold air intake, he pulled 209 hp and 415ft-lbs, befor when his truck was stock it pulled 167hp (sorry cant remeber the torque). my truck is a 94 idi i got a stock downpipe with 4 inch exhaust, fuel pump is turned up, i've played with the wastegate and i got a homemade air intake made of a 90degree pvc pipe and a traffic cone,, once it was done on the dyno i was impressed at what i saw, i had almost 217 hp and 405ft-lbs. He wasn't to happy that the idi had more power than the powerstroke but i thought it was preaty cool, let me know what you guys think.

What kind of dyno was it? I think there are three kinds, some are more accurate than others.
Looks like you made more hp, but he got you in ft. lbs. I bet you had better down low power though. Nice numbers! |

Gotta love 20.7:1 (early 6.9's) or 21.5:1 compression ratio's for IDI's. Dont have to rely on boost to make power, which shows down low. Only problem is they cant boost as high, so they cant run as much fuel (EGT's would be to high). See my sig for boost details.
