front fuel tank???
well im sure everyone has read about my fuel problems and stuff with my truck..
well i found my leak and its the hard lines ontop the inake that go to the injectors. i found 2 of them leaking. so i tried to tighten and they wont stop. so i purchased all new lines.. BUT this isnt te purpose of this post. the purpose is that when i switch to my front fuel tank the motor starts to idle wierd and the diesel sounds goes away also when you hit the gas pedal it kinda chugs up to the rpms.. also it blows white/bueish smoke out of the exhaust like ALOT OF IT.. my uncle works for greyhound and he said to just let it run since its like there is water/ something in the fuel... im kinda scared since in a gas motor white/blue smoke is oil burning which means its not around the pistons rings and not lubing the motor.. i dont want the thing to blow up so i haven ran it on the front tank... any ideas guys???? thanks " the noob " |

Best bet would be to drop the tank out and clean it up good, put it back in and see what happens, If you don't use the tank often, you may have a build up of water ( condensation ) and possibly algae in the tank, best to get both out.

95% of the time i run on the front only and leave the back full " incase " i cant find a diesel station around..
( i do alot of travelling ) so im sure its not condensation. i used it the day my tranny went and everything. the lines were off the tank the exact same amount of time and everything. so i dunno... |

You've got poo-poo in your tank, clogging your filter and the pickup sock. Drop the tank and siffen off the fuel into a BIG GLASS bottle. You'll pee yourself when you see all the crap that was in there.

You could also have air comeing into the system from the line connections.

hmmm well i guess im going to have to drop it and figure out what is wrong and go from there, atleast now i have a couple options of what it could be so i can check those out..

if your havine issues switching to front tank I had same issues, I solved them junking the ford system and installed my own. I found the the factory plastic fuel pickup in both tanks on my truck were broken and floating around inside my tanks, I ditched all that junk, look in my pics to see how I solved the problem
