Erratic Trans Problem

I HAVE A 95 F-250 WITH PSD-E4OD COMBO. I WAS RUNNING DOWN THE INSTERSTATE A FEW WEEKS AGO AND MY O/D OFF LIGHT ON THE SHIFTER STARTED FLASHING. I TOOK THE FIRST OFF RAMP I CAME TO AND PULLED OVER. I NOTICE THAT THE TRUCK WAS SHIFTING EXTREMELY HARD(FELT LIKE I WAS DRIVING MY NOVA). GOT OUT AND CHECKED ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS AND FLUID LEVEL. ALL OK. STARTED TRUCK UP AND LIGHT WAS OUT. DONE FINE REST OF TRIP. TODAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. SHUT TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTED. ALL OK. DONE IT AGAIN A LITTLE LATER. SHUT TRUCK OFF--RESTARTED--ALL OK. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON? THIS IS MAKING ME WANT TO BUY A 6.2 GM WITH A 4SPD....LOL

If a little flashing lightis enough to make you want to buy a GM, then go ahead. Just be advised, they tear up also.
Now to your problem. The flashing light is a warning system for your trans just like the check eng light is for your eng. (The gm doesn't have this). The computer has seen something not right and is warning you. Take it to a trans shop and have them hook a scanner to the diagnostic link. This could be something as simple as a bad speed sensor. Diagnostic's and repair less than $100.
Please let us know what you find. Preston

Settle Down, Just Kidding About The Gm. I Hooked It Up To My Scan Tool At Work And Did Not Get Any Info On The Problem. I Have Been Told That E4od Transmissions Have A Lot Of Problems With The Manual Position Lever Sensor. Has Anyone Else Heard About This? Any Info Will Be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks Y'all

Can't type, serious damaged fimger today.
If that lihgt was flashing, you have a code. Some scanners don't read all info. Need Snap On, Genisus or Star scanner. Dont' star throwing parts at it. Preston

Scanned It With Snap On Modis And Actually Got Somewhere. Retrieved Codes P0476 And P1728. Cant Remember What The P0476 Was But The P1728 Is Tcc Slippage. I Am Investigating It A Little Further At The Shop, But If Anyone Has Any Suggestions On Where To Go Looking, That Would Be A Great Help. Thanks Again

THAT'S NOT GOOD. Unless that p0476 is for a tach sensor, it's probably rebuild time. Although it says tcc slippage, this year cannot tell the difference in 3rd gear slipping or tcc slip.
By the way, ford neveer made a 4 stud converter with 2 clutches in it, but there is one availible now from the aftermarket. GOOD upgrade. Preston

I ACTUALLY HAD A 93 3/4 4X4 EXT CAB LB WITH A 5SPD. I PUT A SET OF 285/75 BFG ATKO's ONIT, 3" STRAIGHT PIPE WITH THE TAILPIPE SECTION FROM AN 01 CUMMINS, K&N FILTER AND TURNED THE PUMP UP A LITTLE. JUST OUT PLAYING AT THE TRACK WE MADE A PASS TAKING OFF IN SECOND, A/C ON AND A PASSENGER. RAN 12.08 SHORT SHIFTING. TRUCK GOT GOOD FUEL ECONOMY AND HAD DECENT POWER FOR BEING THE RED HEADED STEP CHILD OF DIESELS.

THE P0476 HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH BACKPRESSURE I THINK. WHEN I GO BACK TO WORK MONDAY, I'M GOING TO HOOK IT UP AND DO SOME DIGGING. I CAN'T STAND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR TRANS LIGHTS IN MY VEHICLES. I RELY TOO HEAVILY ON THEM TO BE HAVING PROBLEMS. THANKS FOR THE INFO ON THE CONVERTOR. IF I HAVE TO REPLACE MINE, I'LL PROBABLY GET ONE JUST FOR THE DURABILITY. DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE PRESSURE LOC TRANSMISSION CONTROLD FROM BD DIESEL? I SAYS THEY JACK THE PRESSURE UP WHEN LOCK UP OCCURS. JUST CURIOUS. THANKS AGAIN FOR TH INFO

P0476 IS A CODE FOR THE EXHAUST PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE. ANY INFO IS APPRECIATED. THANKS AGAIN
