02 Tranny issue
Hey, i have a 2002, with 130k on it.... a while ago i knoticed when i reduce gears manually, the truck goes to idle, gives a light clunk, and just coasts like you put it in neutral. This however does not apply in OD. But if i put the tranny in 3rd, 2nd, or 1st this happens immediately. Im pretty certain it goes into the appropriate gear, as when i step on the pedal, it goes the the appropriate rpms for the gear. Just no hold back in any gear but OD.... it doesnt even hold the rpms were they should be, just coasts and drops to idle. Hope that makes sense. Im tired of going down mountains and using the brakes when i could just reduce a gear. Since its messed up i have done the T/C mod, just to make sure it was being locked, and it still does it when the T/C is locked up too. Someone told me its the coast clutches, but i have a hard time believing that they went out in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd went out all at once. Well what do you think?
