slammed into 3rd & interm no power

I have a 2000 psd automatic with 156K miles. It was sitting for 2 months went to drive it home and only 5 miles or so down the road lost acceleration - engine was still running, all power in cab but nothing when I hit the accelerator. While pulling over it re-engaged. It's done this a few times before no codes stored. No consitancies between events.
Also on this fun trip home - it was slamming into 3rd gear. So much so I pulled over and tried gently driving it manually shifting from 1, 2 then drive. Driving like that it shifted fine. Took it to a mechanic - it sat for a weekend before he could look at it and he said it was shifting fine, there were no codes and didn't want to start throwing parts at it - suggested changing the trans fluid to synthetic.
I have had the trans fluid replaced - I bought it at 130K miles and changed the fluid at that time dirty but not burnt. Found out the tech only replaced 1 filter so this new tech is going to go synthetic and change the other filter. It's been a great truck but I have bought a newer psd and need to sell it. Don't want to sell it with problems. Any ideas I can pass on to the teck?

im no expert but the lose of acceleration could have been a bad (tps) or a (tps) going bad.

just in case tps= throttle position sensor

i do agree that it could be accelerator pedal if no throttle response , that trans only has one filter inside ,and never seen filter cause with shifting, fluid will not make a difference either ,would do further diag before anything

Interesting I'll look into the accelerator pedal - the filter inside was changed when the fluid was changed but not the "external" filter. Without being able to duplicate the slamming into 3rd gear the tech seems lost.
