Help plz w/tranny cooling options
Howdy all. '01 7.3 250 CC 8"lift w/38's. Towing boat at aprox' 10-12K#'s trailer weight depending on equipement loaded. Tranny has oversized pan but flirts with high heat under load (200-220, I pull over to cool down so don't know how hot it would actually get if I pushed her).
I live in high country Arizona & most of my towing has some serious inclines up to 8% with several lower grades that run many miles (20-200miles). My favorite lake run is from where I live in Sedona to Lake Powell about 170 miles one way and funny as it sounds it's uphill both ways - lol. Anyway I have read about the '06 cooler switch & it appears these can be found for around $150. to $175. for a 30% volume increase. I have also researched add on coolers ranging from $50.-$200.(no fan) to $200.- $500. for fan models. Of these I have been most intrigued with the Tru-Cool non fan model for about $120. I am interested in hearing from anyone with experience on what the best value solution THAT WILL WORK might be. Need to get this done quick as fishing season is now in full swing. Appreciate the help

confused on the value of the 6.0 cooler though
According to my research the 6.0 cooler gives a 30% volume increase. Don't know what that equates to for GVW value but Tru Cool claims an extra 40 GVW totalling 64 GVW total as an add on cooler. Unless I'm missing something in the equation (highly possible) it would seemed that the Tru Cool would give more cooling ability at a lower price. Not trying to be a pain, just a little ignorant regarding the specs. I do know I have heard a lot of owners on this & other sites recommending the 6.0 cooler as you have. Just looking for clarification

I was contemplating which cooler would be best, I decided on the 31 row 6.0. Here were my thought, probably wrong though. Looking at the pictures, stock has 9 rows, the 40K trucool has 13 for a total of 24 rows. 6.0. has 31 row, I ordered the 6.0 2 days ago. Like I said, probably wrong thinking, but...
