banks transcommand problems
My over drive light flashes sometimes. It will go a couple months without acting up. It works great no slipping no nasty shifts. Every now and then it will start flashing and shifting hard. I got under it and one of the wires that goes into the transcommand was just hanging there. It is the black one. i have a 96 f-250 with the powerpack. I have heard a bad ground will cause this because the transcommand will not work right. It comes up with a code saying the torque converter is slipping in lock up mode. However when it is not flashing it is not slipping and it shifts perfect. I have a hard time thinking that there is something wrong in the transmission. I think it is with that wire. i am pretty sure it is a ground. Has anyone had this problem? Who ever owned the truck before me installed the banks powerpack. So I do not have any of the stuff I need to figure it out.

First off, WELCOME to PSD.org I have a TC lock on my 01, and when ever the TC is controlled via me instead of the computer, the OD light flashes. It drives fine, and even if I am not using it, it will flash till it has cycled enough times to get it out of its system. I also log a TC clutch system electrical failure when I do this, but its easy to clear that out, and the dealer where I get mine serviced that it was the neatest thing since sliced bread! I am not experienced with the trans command stuff, but it sounds like you are headed in the right direction. Someone else will be around soon that will have more helpful information for ya! |

thanks guys. I just found this forum last night. It is a pretty cool site. Ya I was wondering if any of you have installation instructions for the transcommand. I am really curious if that black wire is suppossed to plugged in somewhere. It is probably a ground but I am not sure. I do not want to plug it in just anywhere.
