Tranny problems?

Recently with my evolution turned on the extreme setting at higher rpms and at redline my transmission will shift like its got a "shift kit" in it. Some times it will slip and sometimes it will want to shift and wont then shift and put u back in your seat. The 4r100 is a pretty well built tranny from the factory but im wonder if after time can it handly shifting this rough. Who is running a built tranny? Suggestions? I do alot of towing and like to do alot of racing. My tranny is getting a little sloppy with age (130K) and im thinking about beefing it up. A buddy of mine quoted me $1250 for a rebuild, good converter, shift kit, better pump, and good beefy internals. Just wondering to see what everyone else has done. I am a mechanic and im pretty knowledgable but im am just starting to get into diesels. Thanks

Matt
