Tranny Shudders
I have a 1996 F250 PSD. Maybe someone has an idea for me. When I drive my truck normal with no load..the transmission acts fine. But a couple of weeks ago I had about 2500lbs of wood and was probably hauling another 4000lbs with a trailer and when I went to take off at a light the truck would "shudder". it would only do this is first gear. Once it switched to second it didn't do it anymore. The truck has 226,000 miles on it and I believe it is the original auto trans. And the owner before me ran Royal Purple in the trans. I just bought the truck in Oct 06 so it still has the Royal Purple in it. Also I forgot to mention this...I have pulled cars on my trailer up to about 8000lbs and it didn't shudder then...
Thanks for any ideas, Brad |
