CPS or not?

Looking at all the posts on the CPS...seems if the problem is the CPS the truck will just die and not start again till you replace it. True?

Mine will sometimes die if I hit a slight bump in the road or uneven pavement. All I have to do is pull over, place the thing in park, remove the key and then it will start right back up again. Sometimes it won't happen for a while, sometimes a few minutes later. Once in a while I can just keep stomping the pedal and it will start running again. No codes on computer

I have done the obvious, didn't find anything loose.

CPS or Not ? ? ?

Thanks,
MJ

it could be the CPS, but it almost sounds to me like your IDM could be shorting out internally intermittantly.....but i wouldnt condemn that just based on a hunch. the CPS is a much cheaper repair, but that is kind of a tough problem to diag without seeing the truck and feeling how it dies.

Have 99 powerstrke work truck, driving down the road at about 45, cps went out and shut down the truck completely, sorry to say no one stopped but a dodge to pull me off the road. Tried and tried to get started and it wouldnt finally sat there for 30 minutes or so tried again and it started right up, took it to the mechanic and he said it was the cps, so he changed it out and havent had any problem since.

probably not the cps, it will set a code if it acts up at all, sounds like you could have IDM, PCM, or connection problem
