'01 7.3/engine jerks when wipers go on
In wet weather while driving at mostly highway speed the wipers will cause the engine to jerk as soon as they start up.The strange thing is that it's not consistent. Has anyone had this problem ?

Wiper engine stall
Me too. My truck is doing the same thing. I had the wiring manual out all day to make sense of this. All checks out OK. The only thing I can come up with is the sensor is shielded and an induced voltage is affecting with the sensor operation. The wiper wires and the cam sensor wires are in the same harness. They do not share grounds. I am so glad it is not just me. Mike |

Wellll... My opinion. Pull Every Darn Fuse in the Power Distrubution panel under the hood and clean them. I think the power to your PCM relay is dropping low when you turn the wipers on. I just got an expensive education on Fuse problems. My truck was running, turned it off and it wouldn't crank up again. Yes, I studied the wiring dia. also. That's how I figured out it had to be a relay or fuse problem (if the PCM hadn't died).
Derick, you are joking about replacing your battery cables? If your interior lights are maxing out the current your battery cables can carrie... It's not possible. Tighten the left rear lug nuts first and see if that helps or just don't open the doors. Captain Mike Last edited by Mcathcart : 03-29-2007 at 08:29 PM. |
