Thumbs up

Welcome first off!

The filter sits on top of the block towards the front of the truck. Right in behind the piece of trim that says Powerstroke. The little yellow lever on the back side opens up the drain and lets the water/fuel out of the bowl.

Hope this helps!

Watch the fuel dump tube after you change the filter, I also own a 99. I had to replace the dump valve after I replaced the fuel filter. The valve is a little on the cheesy side, but common at the dealer , not too expensive and relatively easy to replace. You'll know in a day if it leaks afterward......diesel smell and fuel drip. Not dangerous, just messy. The fuel drain tube is on the right of your engine, forward near the serpentine pulley.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice. I'm pretty green in the mechanics area but I figured I could handle this and save me a little $.
