Can't figure it out
Morning Guys. I am new to this forum but have heard losts of good info was posted here.
I have a 99 F-250 PSD. Saturday a.m. it was hard to start. probably 50 Deg out side. I had to glow plug it. When it did start it ran fine. Moved it around the yard to a new parking spot. Sunday morning it would not start. 45 deg outside. I figured maybe my glow plug relay wasn't up to snuff so I plugged it in to heat up. 1 hr. later I was cranking it and after a couple minutes it started and ran perfectly. I was over due for an oil change so I ran to town and got the filter and oil. Drove home ran fine. Changed the oil. went to town for supper came home ran fine. Monday won't start. I plugged i tin last night to heat it up. won't start. Changed the CPS as i have had that problem before, didn't help. put meter on Glow plug relay and found good voltage when key is turned on. Bought a code reader last night. no codes found. Help! |

Can't figure it out
I changed it in May as part of the previous oil change service . i had it open last night and it was dark in color but I did not notice any other residue etc. I am installing a new one at lunch time today. Seems we are thinking along the same lines. I always find that people miss the obvious. My self included. |

Can't figure it out
Started Sunday morning. I finally got it to run again last night after work. But it seems sluggish. I am getting good voltage accross the glow plug relay but I think that still may be the culprit. either that or the glow plugs them selves. Oh yeah it wouldn't start again this morning. 50 deg F outside. |

Can't Figure it out
Well I finally figured it out. One battery was weak. Installed two new batteries and the old powerstroke came to life. I thought it was spinning fast enough but I was wrong. I had the glow plugs tested and everything the garage could think of and it came down to the batteries... The ford guys all say that one battery will die first but ALWAYS replace both of them... Hope this helps somebody else. |
