03 cold start
Hi, this is my first time posting on this board. I have an 03 F-250 with a 7.3 in it. I just installed a TS 6 position chip, and love the performance. The only problem I am having is starting in cold weather. It acts like the glow plugs are not working, with the white smoke, and long cranking. I can make it start but it is hard on it. Has anyone else had any problems with this?

I have looked at the tech section and it doesn't talk about my type of setup. My truck doesn't have two solinoid like looking relays. It has one that looks like a solinoid that is for the intake heater, and one that looks like an amp for the glow plugs. We have three other 7.3 with the two solinoid setup, but this one is different.

Maybe try running the glow plugs twice? Also, do you plug your truck in...I would highly recomned it if you do not. Mine starts like a champ when it is cold, but it does blow a TON of white smoke as well as sound pretty scary. It fires so hard that the torque in the engine causes the entire truck to rock back and forth for a few seconds. |

I think that I have just found the problem. After you talked about the green state truck I called TS Performance. They said that they use a generic computer code for all of them except the cal. trucks, and that is what I am assuming that a green state truck is. So I am getting my computer code tonight and sending the chip back in for a reprogram. Thanks for the help guys!
