drive shaft

ok i was going to do my ball joints. but i found out today that they weren't bad. but know my issue is that my front drive shaft is turning when not engaged. what is causing this. i know someone said it shouldn't turn when it is not engaged. i think this is were my clunking is coming from when i make a hard sharp right or left turn. if you need any more info let me know. thanks

Sounds like your hubs are binding/locking.

just got back from a buddies and he said it may be the u joints up front and he called his buddy and he said it sounds like the hubs are locked. i guess just because it says auto doesn't mean thee unlocked lol.

ok here is what i got so far. with the selector in 2wd and the hubs turned to auto. the front shaft should spin freely. but it doesn't. so this is telling me that the hubs are locked correct me if i am wrong. i guess replacing with warns should fix this or what should i do. thanks

so would you say just buy teh lock outs or do i need to buy the whole hub assembly. thanks
