Front wheel locked up!

Hi all, new to the site searching for answers.

I have had some bearing noise for a little while now but think I have pushed it to the limit. I was driving the other night and and the truck started making a grinding noise that was really loud inside the truck. I stopped to inspect it and noticed that the caliper was resting on the rotor and the wheel was leaning in further than normal. I was still about 30 miles from my house so I decided to try and make it a little closer and drive really slow. Well a stupid decision I know...but what further harm could I do? Well about 5 miles down the road the front wheel totally locked up on me. I had to have it towed home and now will be doing the work to repair it. Any pointers from anyone that has changed a front bearing assembly? Should I change out both at the same time? Could this be something else?

Just did mine. Not too bad of a repair. E-bay has hub assemblys for about 150 for a 2wd and 250 for a 4WD. Got mine from NAPA for 430 (4WD) If you have a Haynes or Chiltons repair manual it walks you right through it! Just make sure you spline isn't all gouged up from driving it till it froze. If you have the $$$ go ahead and do both now!! Especiall if you have high mileage. Better now than if the other one freezes!!! Just my 2 cents!!! Any questions, let me know!
