auto hubs?

I have a 2002 f-250 lariat. it has the automatic hubs. it does not ever seem to want to work from the switch i always have to get out and lock the hibs. but a lot of the times i put it in 4-wheel drive the a/c stops blowing in my face and goes to defrost. is this a vaccum leak or what? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

That is usually what happens when the auto hubs stop working....vacuum leak.

Leak only?

well then if it is a leak why does it only affect everything when i go for 4-wheel? shouldn't the a/c be affected by the leak regardless of 4Wheel drive?

No because the vaccuum leak is at the hubs not at the a/c control. Sometimes it will change the vent control to defrost only.

Replace the seals there is 2 seals and a yellow o-ring. You need to take apart the hub to replace the seals. Or the vaccuum line that goes to the hub is cracked or has became disconected.

Still the same problem. I do not trust the auto locking feature. I manually lock the hubs.

My truck has been messed up for a while now. I am not going to worry about it until I can afford to do the conversion. When I need 4wheeldrive I will just manually lock the hubs in.

It converts the front end from sealed wheelbearing assembly to the old style serviceable wheelbearings. The kit costs around 2,000 dollars. It also replaces the stock hubs with warn manual lock out hubs.

If your wanting to do this contact Tank's250 because he has the whole kit and is selling it.
