grinding in front end

I am getting a grinding noise coming from the front end (I think) of mt 99 350 DRW 4x4. You can hear it at all speeds even creeping at idle speed. You can hear it at idle speed like grind-quiet-grind-quiet as if it is just grinding on part of the revolution. At higher speeds you can actually feel it in the floorboard. It is not a real loud grind but it is there nevertheless. With the front jacked up the wheels spin freely with no noise. I have replaced both front wheel bearings, rotors, clipers, saddles and pads. Also it does it with or without the lockouts installed. With lockouts off the truck, and the 4x4 engaged the sound subsides somewhat but it still there. I had the ball joints replaced 6 mo. ago. Any help is appreciated.

Maybe try removing your hub locks AND disconnect the front driveshaft. This will(should) eliminate the front axle (bearing in there). If the noise is gone, you have it down to something in the axle! (axle bearing, pinion bearing) Hope you get it figured out.

Wheelbearings were it for me. Check them and ball joints by jacking each side of the truck up individually and have someone strong yanking on the tire hard. Get under it and see where it's moving if it is. If it's not, you might also want to check the lockout hubs.

Update on my problem: Turns out the seals for the front axles were shot and allowing some play . The axles were off center causing a bind in the lockouts. Replaced seals and grinding noise is gone.
