Front suspention swap

Hey guys,

I have a 96 F250 with a PSD and I want to swap the TTB for a dana 60. My question is how far back can I go to get one, and can I use any of the part from the dana 50 that I already have. I am open to all imput. If anyone is selling a used dana 60 please let me know. It does not to ready to install because I really just need to case and I plan on build the diff myself. Thanks Nick

you can get one from any '80 - '97 f-350. Not sure if they had 'em that early, but the frame width is the same, so they will work. I think they started the solid 60 in '85 or so. The early ones use king pins and later ones use ball joints. It really doesn't matter in my oppinion, but if you plan on going with real big tires, the king pins would be your best bet.

It is a simple install, just remove all of the TTB stuff and put the 60 in. You may have to add blocks or addaleaf to the rear for looks. If you want to run a tracbar you will need the bracket and bar from a 350.

How about this. When I bought my '88 F-250, the previous owner had removed the center pivot of the TTB and welded the two halhes together to make a solid axle. Don't try this at home!LOL! It took me a few weeks to find a 60, but I got one complete with hubs and all for $1000. I don't know where it came from, my buddy that works at the local city garage found it. Good Luck!
