I don't know at what point it hurts things but until now I haven't heard of lower than 3.9k
And it only smokes a little. My friends make fun of me and say it "queefs" (if you dont know that's basically a fart) It does NOT paste out thick black cloud of doom train smoke, but it'll puff smoke alright. That's stock tuning, stock turbo, stock injectors, nothing but intake and exhaust really.
And restriction ... if you wanna call it that, yes. That is the basics of it. A 4.4kiloOhm resistor will make more power than a 18kiloOhm resistor. I couldn't tell you how though ... I still don't get HOW it works, I just know what it does. Lol!
