I don't mind people receiving a helping hand when they are down on their luck. I don't think that there is huge amount of welfare abuse when you look at as a percentage of recipients. Here is the problem and my story as a example.

When i was a kid my family was on welfare and i remember my mom trying to get off of it. With welfare there is no grey area. The second you get a job you are 100% cut off so if that job does not work out you are driven in to a situation that is even worse because now you have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for help again. I think the benefits should be reduced over the course of 1-2 mouths just so the person can get a little stability. Every time my mom made an atempt to get off the system they would tell her that she cant make it and that she would be back in a week or two. Well she did finally get off of welfare after 3 years of fighting and clawing her way out of it with no help other than the county telling her to just sit back a use the system.

I know every case is not like this but i thought i would share it with every one. Because it is very easy to fall in to that trap and very hard to get out.

But i do have to say it did make me a better man and a very hard worker.
