high idle HELP?
Ok so it looks easy enough. I found the correct wires so I thought immediately. Hooked it up to try it out and it started to idle up and then killed the engine. Twice in a row... Upon further investigation I realized that I had hooked one end of the toggle to the ptovrev wire as it was labeled. It was the orange wire with red stripe. I switched to the solid orange wire and tried again with no result. After killing my engine I now have the little engine block light in my cluster lit up all the time. Need some advice from somebody smarter than me. The wires are all there and there is a sticker attached around them. I will list most of the wires as I got off the label.
Large wires:
Red
Black
Blue
White
Small wires:
orange = PTO
orange/lt. blue stripe = PTOC
orange/red stripe = PTOVREV
orange/yellow stripe = PTORPM
orange/black stripe = PTOGND
My truck is an 06 F250 if that helps at all. The high idle mod sounded simple enough, but I'm stuck. I know I've got power off the lead from behind the OBD port as I tested that wire and its hot. I'm just not sure which wire to hook to the other end of the toggle switch I bought to complete the project. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
