One thing I have had a problem with my Banks/K&N is the gasket surrounding the edge of the rubber. I actually DO check the filter periodically, & I think it was the 2nd or 3rd time I was giving it a look & the gasket had already started coming off. To add insult to injury, the screen mesh on the top had given my knuckle a little slice. So not only does my filter keep dirt out with oil, but it also keeps dirt out with blood!
