Remember that the low end oil supplies the hpop with oil on these engines. Also to make this affective you would have to do this at the same time you change the low end oil.

I think the he is probaly right. With your logic Big it would be the same as changing your oil and then topping off with 3 quarts of used oil. Because just draining the oil does not clear the upper. It would take several oil changes to clear the upper and you would still have old oil in the upper. I'm not trying to argue, I'm saying it seems it would be the best idea to change the upper and lower at the same time every time.
