Chrome does not last as long as aluminum in winter weather where they salt the road a lot. Around here in Indiana, most people run aftermarket wheels in nice weather with a spare set for the winter. This is especially true with chrome wheels. If you don't keep them clean with a coat of wax on em, they will pit and rust really fast. If you don't run a spare set of wheels in bad weather, then aluminum is the way to go.
