I think it would be a hit if you looked at what some people do out of their own shop (Tank's front bumper!!!!!).
Tank's truck is a very nice rig, and most people wouldn't think it was self built!

As for driver, trucks we do feature them too, but most readers want to see the "dream truck" type of feature so they have something to build toward rather than just the same basic truck that is in their own driveway. Almost all of the rigs we feature are Driver's even the ones that look like full-blown show trucks with crazy lifts and such, they are still driven by their owners. With fuel prices the way they are they may not be driven as much as they used to but they are usually driven!

I would much rather shoot and feature a driver than a trailer queen any day!!! When owners are willing to wheel their rigs or do burnouts for my photoshoots I jump on it and most of the time those photos run in the magazine!

I try to put a mix of vehicle features into each and every issue of our magazine. Think about it we need to mix in Ford, GM and Dodge makes then different styles of rigs so it is a difficult job trying to make sure we put together an issue that is appealing to a wide spectrum of readers not just a small group.

I'll post more articles as I have time, right now I am fighting deadlines so I need to get back to work on my other articles.

Take care,
Chris
