I work for CAT and we had meetings on wed. that basicaly stated that they were getting out of the on road truck engine market, they claim there is no money in it. This will prob. shut down the mossville Il. engine plant, not sure about that though. We were also told they were moving all motor grader production out of Decatur il to Little Rock ark in order to double large mining truck production. Oh, moving all lower power train opperations to tenn. also. Bossman said that these are all good moves, then about half hour later he said off the record that it would prob mean we would lose about half our workforce within the next 2 - 3 years! Yeah, thats great news.
