On your buddies GPS Antenna. you can use any GPS antenna that has the right connector. Look on Ebay or similar should cost about 20-40 bucks.
the factory dealer Antenna will cost you ah limb.

Hey, thanks for the tip. If I have trouble removing mine to give to him, then I'll simply suggest this route. Is there a "name" of the type of connector it is? Is there any way to verify that what I'm ordering is, in fact, the correct type? I'd ask you how hard it would be to remove mine but my guess is that you don't know because you've never had to deal with that. Am I correct?
