how it is in the west

At our pumps we can get #1 or #2, the differance is on road or off road out here. #2 is for on road only and #1 is not taxed as heavy for the farmers. I have had a few people say that their mileage went to hell whe they fueled up in California. After reading all the mileage you guyes are getting I do believe that our fuel is less BTU's then yours. If I keep the speed down and use cruise control I get a bit better - but not 20 or more, its more like 17 or 18 and that is empty. This is what I have done to help (1)-4 inch down pipe and 5 inch exhaust (2)- dual air clearners both K&N (3)- Banks 90 hp chip (4)- Banks turbo housing (5)- Banks big head waste gate control (6)- Banks trans command (7)- Banks torque converter (8)- Banks six-gun (9)- magnet on the fuel line. (10)-Delvac oil. Everything that I have done should have improved the mileage, and together it should be awsom. The best thing I did was to fix the 5 volt ref to my map sensor. If I add up all the hp that is claimed to show up with each improvement, I get more the 550 Horse-power. I can brake the tires loose just by pushing too hard, it will pickup speed on any hill with our fithwheel under tow. I have come to believe that the fuel you buy in California is crap and I will never get your kind of mileage. Keep trucking Mike OB
