more bad luck

i was driving my 6.9 and everything was goin good, then it started smoking a lil and i slowed down to stop and it started smoking alot of white. i drove in the driveway and shut it off, popped the hood and the overflow reservor was boilng, so i started it up again and let it idle to cool down, i went in the barn and came back out 5 min later and it was still running and smoking some but the coolant hose on the bottom of the radiator broke and the coolant was going everywhere, so i pulled it off and am going to put a new one on. does anyone have an idea what went wrong
thanks

little bit of an overheat issue. is your thermostat good, it may be stuck closed or jsut partially closed, not allowing the coolant to flow properly creating an overtemp. just throwin this out there. i may be way off!
