1987 6.9L Ford Diesel - Any thing I need to be aware of?

I just recently purchased a 1987 6.9L Ford diesel F250 4x4 pickup that I am toying with. This is my first diesel engine. I've read that certain diesels have problems to look out for. Does anyone know what kind of problems I need to be aware of with this model?

You should run a good fuel conditioner as it will lubricate the pump/injectors whereas new ultra low sulfur fuel may be inadequate

Great engines. The biggest issues are glow plugs and injector pumps, but that's usually after many, many miles.
