hooking up a turbo
My buddy got a free 86 3/4 ton that runs like a top. horrible body though. We've got it cranked all the way up and were about hook up a turbo, don't ask what off of or i'll be the guy everone makes fun of for a LONG time. This is kind of our fun rig that we can mess around in. I will tell you the turbo is for agriculture work so it will work for our needs. Our questions are like this.
1) Do you have to hook up both exhaust manifolds with egual length tubes to the turbo, or can you just use one maniflod to power it? we plan on flipping the manifold upside down (if possible) and hopefully you guys say we only need to hook up one side. I know you guys are gonna warn me about the stuff that will probably happen by turning it all the way up and by putting boost through an old motor but it's free and still runs like a top. Like I said our play toy for the time being. So please don't post if you don't have something productive to say. thanks, Luke |

you really do need to hook it up to both sides of the exhaust , make sure you run oil tube to turbo, pipes dont have to be equal length also, that realy doesnt matter that much

ok thanks, I forgot all about the oil tube. So the pipes from the manifolds into the turbo do not have to be equal lengths?
