Ping sound from tranny housing

Hello All, just found this site, looks to be many informed members out there. Thanks for creating such a place to pool information!

I did a search, but nothing on this topic that I could find. Overall my F250 2012 6.7l has a ping noise coming from what I can tell is the tranny housing. So far I am only able to hear it at idle/park. The sound is not consistent, where I hear it like morris mode. It does sound like a relay internally to the tranny flipping back and forth.

Thought I would put it out there as I called the dealership so I can compare apples to apples on what they may believe is the issue.

Cheers
Joe

Search typewriter tick. Common on diesels. Its the motor not the trans. It will go away, but will come back after every oil change for a few thousand miles. Nothing to worry about. Mine does it.
