Out of curiosity, when it won't start with the key does it almost seem like dead battery? Like a few few hard clicks, but if you try the remote start it fires right up. The reason I ask is my '11 started doing this day before yesterday with 61k on it. I do have some corrosion on the posts of both my batteries. I am going to try cleaning them in hopes that the starting issues go away.

Well I figured out my problem today. This afternoon it decided it didn't want to start by key or remote. Turns out it was the batteries. If yours is doing the same thing you had better get your batteries checked before you end up stranded somewhere. I was told by a 6.7 technician that these motors need an almost perfect charge to even fire up. Once the batteries begin losing their life they need to get changed out pronto. Good luck

Is it both keys or just one of them? If it's just the one key then have it checked, but if it's both keys it may be the ignition cylinder. The trucks built in security feature may not recognize the keys security code.

I don't have 2 keys.
But I have figured out that if I get in the truck
Put foot on brake and turn the key over exactly when the door shuts. It starts ever time.
I don't kno what the door has to do with it.

It's possible slamming the door is jarring a loose connection enough to complete the circuit. Take a look under the steering column and follow the wire bundle to their connectors. You may find one that isn't snapped in all the way causing your problem.

Mine started doing the doing the dead battery act this morning with just under 60,000 on it. If I just hold the in the start position, it will eventually start. Gonna get them checked today. Will let y'all know what the status is.
