CEL P0275

I have a 2011 6.7 4x4 dually 135,xxx on it. Last week my CEL light came on while the truck was idling. On my way home from work, I stopped by O'Reilly's and had them put their scan tool on it. Nothing showed up. They said the code must have cleared itself, but the light was still on when I left there. The next morning it was off. I made several trips in the truck during the day with no light, then that night it came back on. I went to an AutoZone the next morning and they pulled the code P0275 Cylinder 5 Contribution/Balance. Probable causes: bad injector, low fuel supply.

The truck is running fine. I have no miss at idle, and while I haven't had to pull a heavy load, I have plenty of power on the highway and during take-offs. Yesterday, I disconnected both batteries and went on a long motorcycle ride to see if it would clear the code. Hooked batteries up and the code was there as soon as I started the truck. But, so were all of my presets on the radio, my phone was still synced, the only thing that change was the radio station went to a Sirius ad station.

Do the codes on this truck have to be cleared with a scan tool? I would like to clear it and see if it comes back on or not.

How did this turn out? I'm getting the same code right now. I have Torque Pro app for my phone and when I attempt to clear the code I get a message saying this is a "gray code" that has to be cleared by the ECU after it has run with no reported issues for an unspecified number of runs.
