Turbo noise... normal?

Guys,

Lately I have heard a whistling noise coming from under the hood when I start my truck up the first time for the day. I am guessing it is the turbo. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner and last until the truck gets warm.

I just started noticing it about a month ago. Does anyone else's do this?

I am use to the spooling sound when driving although this truck doesn't make much of that sound at all compared to previous trucks, however, this noise is occurring while sitting in the driveway idling.

Stock for now.

I have never heard a whistling sound coming from under my hood at idle. Only whistle I hear is from my exhaust.

I hear a whistling sound. Just figured it is the turbo. Realy haven't noticed if it's coming from under the hood or from exhaust but I've heard it since day one brand new and I've only owned my truck for 3 weeks.

I just recently started noticing it. I don't know if it has something to do with the colder weather or not. It only does it when I start it after it has been sitting a while. After the truck warms up it stops.

mine started a noise like what your describing . I just let it be for a while then it turned out to start doing it more when I was driving and under acceleration. Finally got fed up and took it into the dealer turned out to be 3 exhaust manifold bolts and a cracked manifold. can ya get a video and post it? if you can than we could probably tell you a little more

Change your fuel filters. Mine has done that a few times and changing the filters (mainly the underhood one) fixed it.
